About the event

Listed as one of the most beautiful hikes in SE QLD and a prominent feature of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk, the Baroon Pocket Dam to Kondalilla Falls hike is one that's been on the list for a while! This 10km (20km return) section includes great views of the Baroon Pocket dam, Obi Obi Creek, upper and lower Kondalilla Falls and widely varying bushland, from rainforest to dense bushland and riparian forest.

As we will be doing this as a one-way hike, we'll be meeting first at the Kondalilla Falls carpark before carpooling down to Baroon Pocket Dam where we will begin the 10km walk. The trek back to Kondalilla Falls will take approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, and includes some challenging steep sections so a reasonable fitness level is required.

If you'd like to join us, we'll be meeting at the Kondalilla carpark at 8:30am before carpooling to Baroon Pocket Dam (15 minute drive) and hoping to start the walk by 9am.

For anyone that is interested in joining us for the Binna Burra Weekend Hiking Retreat in September, including the 18km Coomera Circuit, this will be a good challenge to prepare and ensure you can make the distance.
