Hi :)

Nate here. Hopefully we've met at some point over the years I've been running events with The Kindness Collective. If not, here's a little bit about me, the work I do outside of running the group, and the reason I'm now offering my services to the TKC community.

I hold a Biomedical Science degree from the University of the Sunshine Coast and am currently studying a Masters of Teaching (Secondary), and am also a support worker, qualified personal trainer and yoga instructor. I graduated high school in 2006 from Nudgee College in Brisbane before falling into the usual trappings of a teenager in their hometown, managing my social anxieties and difficulties through drugs and alcohol. After several years of this, I decided to head to Europe on a solo working holiday for a year where I lived primarily in Scotland. This experience, as challenging as it was at times having to come face-to-face with my own anxiety and acute periods of depression, built confidence and allowed me to form an identity outside of my hometown relationships. For the next 8 years, I travelled extensively, and have visited over 65 countries while working on cruise ships as a personal trainer and public speaker, and backpacking through South America, India, and South-East Asia. In 2013, I began setting my roots down on the Sunshine Coast to complete my studies, build a couple of businesses and spend as much time as possible hiking, surfing, rock climbing, and paddleboarding.

I am a huge advocate for the power of nature and adventure therapy in getting people out of their comfort zone to boost self-esteem, and hopefully provide greater joy, purpose, and meaning to one's life. Since starting The Kindness Collective in 2017, I have seen the benefit of this firsthand through the hundreds of events I have run, and watched as people have deepened their own relationships with others and the natural world. I have also been using this approach as a support worker for some time, where I have been working with teens and young adults with ASD, Aspergers, and various mental health conditions to assist with independent living, build confidence and social skills, and improve both physical and mental health. I am very excited to be offering my services now to friends and acquaintances within the TKC community.

I would love to chat and see if I can be of assistance to you or your loved ones, so feel free to reach out to me using the form below, or phone me on 0411796754.

With gratitude,

Nate
